Recyclability Grade Validator

EU PPWR recyclability grade A–F for any packaging format

Run this agent →

What it does

Submit your packaging structure (substrate, layers, inks, closures, adhesives). The Recyclability Grade Validator maps the structure to the EU PPWR recyclability tier framework (A through F), based on material composition, layer count, contamination barriers, and certified composting status. Output includes grade, reasoning, EPR eco-modulation impact, and reformulation options to achieve a higher grade.

Example use case

A packaging developer has a stand-up pouch in BOPP/ALFOIL/LDPE laminate. The validator grades it D (not recyclable in current infrastructure). It identifies that removing the aluminium foil layer and switching to a BOPP/metallised BOPET structure would achieve grade B — with an estimated EPR eco-modulation saving of €0.08/kg.

Frequently asked questions

What is the EU PPWR A–F grade?

When do the grades take effect?
